About Us

Fresco opened its doors in November 2002 at 7625 Maple St, where Maple Gardens Restaurant used to be. It had also been the location of the famous Amy’s Snowball Stand.

Here’s a short chronological history of Fresco:

November 8, 2002 – First day at Fresco – Dining room service only

January 15, 2003 – Fresco starts delivery service

February 6, 2004 – Fresco starts late night hours until 3AM

August 28, 2005 – Fresco closes at 10 PM after working with only volunteers for that day.

November 5, 2005 – On its almost 3rd birthday Fresco re-opens. Thanks to all caring employees who came back to help open.

January 8, 2006 – Fresco closes down for a day, just to give a break to its staff who had been working overtime, non-stop and short-handed to serve to the increased demand after Tulane and Loyola re-opens. The staff shortage gets a little bit better after 2 months.

February 13, 2007 – Tornadoes hit Maple St. Fresco is spared with minimal damage.

2008: Everything back to normal – So far!

Fresco is a family business. But it is a family of caring employees and customers. We will always keep it that way.

Why Fresco is different?
Because we seek to be different: with the ingredients we choose, with the variety of tastes we put on our menu, with the wines we select… We always want to bring what’s highest quality, what’s exciting and what’s new. We have got to be different because otherwise, it will be too boring. And yes, our simple food tastes amazing. It’s true.
